AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

HARLEY DAVIDSON is a 70 x 100 cm painting by Flavia Delgado that pays homage to the spirit of freedom and rebellion associated with road culture.

The motorcycle, represented as the central icon, is not just an object, but a symbol of identity, independence, and constant movement. Its presence evokes journeys with no fixed destination, open horizons, and the construction of a personal on-wheels narrative.

The graphic treatment, with bold black lines and flat colors, transforms the image into a visual emblem close to classic poster art and contemporary pop language.

The direct and powerful composition strips away the superfluous to focus on the essence: speed, character, and attitude.

HARLEY DAVIDSON is a celebration of individual freedom and the mythical imaginary of the road, turned into an iconic image.

Seller's Story

I present a pictorial work line strongly linked to illustration and artistic poster design. My works combine the language of classic poster art with the plastic freedom of contemporary painting: flat colors, defined contours, direct scenes, and a clear narrative sense. My work dialogues with the tradition of 20th-century poster art, especially with the universe of Art Deco and European and North American advertising posters, where authors like A. M.. Cassandre, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, and Leonetto Cappiello used synthetic imagery and color for visual impact. There are also affinities with European comic graphics and the clear line, from Hergé to modern editorial illustration. In my paintings, I depict interiors, architectures, figures, and travel scenes—such as roads, vintage cars, or landscapes—approached from a graphic perspective reminiscent of posters and illustrated books, but transferred to the realm of painting on paper and canvas. I aim for each image to function like a frame or a narrative poster, capable of suggesting a broader story without needing to explain it.
