AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

HOT DOG is a 70 x 100 cm painting by Flavia Delgado that elevates a pop culture icon to the category of contemporary graphic imagery.

The hot dog, represented in the foreground and with a commanding scale, becomes a visual symbol of the everyday and the universal. Its formal simplicity, combined with a vibrant treatment of color, brings it closer to the language of classic poster art and to the pop imaginary.

The composition, direct and without distractions, reinforces its iconic character, while the radial background enhances the sense of energy and protagonism, as if the object were presented almost as an emblem.

The use of bold black lines and saturated colors turns the scene into a strong, recognizable image loaded with visual humor.

HOT DOG is a celebration of the popular, where the simple becomes extraordinary through the artistic gaze.

Seller's Story

I present a pictorial work line strongly linked to illustration and artistic poster design. My works combine the language of classic poster art with the plastic freedom of contemporary painting: flat colors, defined contours, direct scenes, and a clear narrative sense. My work dialogues with the tradition of 20th-century poster art, especially with the universe of Art Deco and European and North American advertising posters, where authors like A. M.. Cassandre, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, and Leonetto Cappiello used synthetic imagery and color for visual impact. There are also affinities with European comic graphics and the clear line, from Hergé to modern editorial illustration. In my paintings, I depict interiors, architectures, figures, and travel scenes—such as roads, vintage cars, or landscapes—approached from a graphic perspective reminiscent of posters and illustrated books, but transferred to the realm of painting on paper and canvas. I aim for each image to function like a frame or a narrative poster, capable of suggesting a broader story without needing to explain it.
