Description from the seller
Oil on canvas painting by Kuno Schiefer
Dimensions: 98 x 63 cm
Comes with a book about Kuno Schiefer
Provenance:
- Heirloom from the Kuno Schiefer family
Kuno Schiefer (Stuttgart, 1948 – São José dos Campos, 1992) was a German painter and graphic artist who spent most of his life working in Brazil. His oeuvre encompasses paintings, drawings, and graphics, with his Brazilian period particularly characterized by influences from tropical nature and the landscape. His work was noticed early and exhibited in important galleries in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. From 1985 he alternated between Brazil and Berlin, which had a significant influence on his artistic development.
In his work, Schiefer evolved from figurative depictions of everyday objects to expressive, often abstract interpretations of vegetation and nature. His paintings are marked by intense colors, a strong sense of light, and a nearly musical rhythm in composition and brushwork. Through the interplay between Europe and Brazil, a personal visual language emerged, in which he gradually moved away from figuration toward a more introspective and free painting style.
Viewing is of course possible. In addition, we have our own in-house framing workshop, celebrating its 85th anniversary year. We also work with restorers from the professional association: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. If you would like to make use of this, please let us know.
