Description from the seller
Beautiful piece by Eleonora Stol. The colors are so vibrant and leap off the work. It is mixed media on canvas. The work is painted on both sides. The work has some stains on the bottom on one side.
Eleonora Stol (Leiden, 1946 – 2022), also known as ‘La Roja’, was described as “the timeless paintress of colourful life.” Art was for her the ultimate means to bring positivity and color into homes and exhibitions. Her work still livens up interiors around the world and often forms the focal point of a room.
Her paintings are characterized by a distinctive signature style, playful use of color, and a fantastical, sometimes provocative imagination.
Anton Martineau wrote about her work: “Through a renewal on the surrealist base plane, a world emerges in which dream and reality intertwine and love is central. The work pulls you in and never lets you go; you are carried along in a surge of intense emotional movement.”
Dimensions of the work: 80 x 60 cm
The work is on view at our gallery. In addition, Art Dumay operates a framery (this year celebrating its 85th anniversary) and a restoration studio. So if you would like to make use of these services, we would of course love to hear from you.
Shipping is possible; it will be arranged after purchase. For questions about this, please contact us.
