Alexander Calder, Maeght, a 1963 lithograph from Derrière le miroir N°141, unsigned, in a limited edition with red, black, yellow and white colours, 38 × 56 cm (frame: 40 × 60 cm), excellent condition and sold with its frame from France.

Alexander CALDER (1898-1976) Original double-page lithograph - Maeght 1963 - Derrière le Miroir No. 141, in excellent condition, framed
Lithograph dimensions: 38 cm x 56 cm (slight original vertical crease in the center of the sheet)
Dimensions with frame: 40 cm x 60 cm
DLM published in November 1963 for the exhibition of 6 large CALDER stabiles at the Galerie Maeght. Texts by James Lord and Michel Ragon. 36 unbound pages. 8 original color lithographs, of which 3 are double-page, and 11 reproductions in black. Original edition.
Brief biographical excerpt:
1950 - Beginning of Calder's association with the Maeght Gallery in Paris where he exhibits several mobiles and stabiles. He designs the cover of « Derrière le miroir », which serves as the poster for the exhibition. The year 1951 will be marked by an exhibition with Joan Miró at the Contemporary Arts Museum in Houston. In 1952, he receives the first prize for sculpture at the Venice Biennale. Calder settles temporarily in France in the Aix-en-Provence region and dedicates himself entirely to the gouache and printmaking technique.
Alexander Calder receives the Gold Medal of the Architectural League of New York and is elected to the National Institute of Arts and Letters.
