Le Yack presents a hand-signed giclée on canvas, 'Fast Food Aristocracy', 40 x 60 cm, limited edition, origin France, sold directly by the artist.
Description from the seller
In a masterful chiaroscuro worthy of the Dutch Golden Age, a noble lady of the 17th century, dressed in a rich black velvet gown and adorned with an imposing lace ruff, poses with an unperturbed solemnity. Yet the absolute seriousness of her aristocratic expression violently contrasts with the ongoing action: she delicately savors the fries from a famous red fast-food cone. This unexpected intrusion of mass consumer culture into the heart of a classical portrait creates a striking and deeply ironic anachronism. The work captivates with its flawless technical execution, where the light caresses with equal nobility the delicacy of the lace and the crispy golden hues of the fries. Le Yack signs here a brilliant piece, questioning with subversive humor our relationship to art history icons and to globalization.
