Mara Solène (born 1982) is a painter who primarily works with oil painting. Her work explores the human figure as a space of relation between identity, presence, and perception. Her pieces feature figures suspended between reality and imagination, with simplified forms and faces that move away from realistic portraiture to become expressive instruments. At the heart of her practice is the relationship between figures: gaze, distance, and the quiet tension that builds within the painting space. Her work moves between figuration and distortion, in an essential inquiry in which identity remains open and in constant transformation.
NB: The artwork will be shipped inside a sturdy tube suitable for shipping. The colors of the painting may differ slightly from the photos due to screen settings. In person, artworks are more beautiful than in photography: one can appreciate the hypnotic beauty of the oil colors that come to life on the canvas.
Worldwide shipping via UPS courier.
