Description from the seller

Cigarette case in solid silver. Engraved inscription: From Noadge (not certain) 1915

The interior of the case has a golden hue contrasting with the exterior.

The case bears inside the lid complete and clearly legible English import hallmarks. Objects in solid silver produced in Great Britain are distinguished by their unique system of hallmarks, true passports of authenticity and origin.

The passant lion, majestic and proudly standing on its four paws, is an essential symbol of English silverware. This hallmark guarantees that the object is made of solid silver with a minimum fineness of 925 thousandths. Placed on pieces since 1544, this hallmark is one of the oldest and most respected marks in the world of silver.

Among the English hallmarks, the anchor plays an equally essential role. This symbol indicates the city where the piece was assayed and hallmarked. In this case, the anchor represents Birmingham, a city that has long been a center of production and control of precious metals.

Size (cm) L: 12.8 - w: 8
Weight (g): between 140 and 150

Condition
Excellent condition - The case is in very good 'vintage' condition, with no major damage (no chips or cracks) or defects. Note a few darker stains are present on the exterior face. Please refer to the photos to examine the condition in more detail.
