Description from the seller
P for Picasso — The Artphabet
Edition 1/10 — 60 x 60 cm
This work is part of The Artphabet, an artistic project developed by digital artist Cess, in which each letter of the alphabet pays homage to key figures in modern art and visual culture.
In this piece, the letter P transforms into a tribute to Pablo Picasso, drawing inspiration from one of his most influential works, Les Demoiselles d’Avignon. The typography becomes a pictorial space where the human figure is fragmented and reinterpreted through planes, distortions, and multiple perspectives.
The composition integrates a face and a stylized body that evoke the masks and angular forms characteristic of Picasso’s proto-Cubist period. The facial features, deliberately decomposed and asymmetrical, create a visual tension that breaks with classical representation, offering a new way of understanding figure and space.
The color palette — ochres, greens, blacks and earthy tones — reinforces the connection to the original work, while visible brushstrokes and painterly textures add an expressive dimension that recalls the artist’s manual gesture.
Three-dimensionality introduces a contemporary reading, translating Picasso’s pictorial language into a digital environment where painting gains volume and sculptural presence, blurring the boundaries between image and object.
The work has been created through a completely digital 3D (CGI) process, crafted with artisanal care, paying special attention to composition, the deformation of forms, and painterly texture, achieving an intense, conceptual, and deeply expressive aesthetic.
The Artphabet has had wide international reach, being disseminated in numerous design, art, and visual culture media, establishing itself as one of the most notable art typography projects in the recent digital realm.
Cess is an artist specialized in digital art, CGI and artificial intelligence, with an established track record in the creative sector, having collaborated with international brands such as Apple, Google, Prada, Vogue and MTV, among others.
The work is presented in high-quality Giclée printing on poly/cotton canvas, ensuring excellent color reproduction, texture, and the expressive force of the original digital work.
