Description from the seller
Fritz Ruoff (1906–1986) – 4 Unique Pieces (1963/1970) – Watercolor & Drawing – signed
Four original works by the German artist Fritz Ruoff, executed in a characteristic, pared-down idiom that sits between abstraction and concrete art. The works are predominantly dated 1963, one piece dated 1970.
The compositions show Ruoff's typical play with elemental forms – circle, oval and segment – as well as a finely tuned use of color. Three works are executed as watercolors and impress with transparent color layers and subtle transitions, while one piece is a drawing with a clear, graphic impact. The works exemplify Ruoff's concentrated engagement with form, plane and color in the 1960s/70s.
All works are signed and individually framed.
Technique:
3 × watercolor on paper
1 × drawing on paper
Dimensions:
each approx. 34 × 27.5 cm (frame included)
Condition:
All works in good condition. Possible minor signs of aging. Frames with minimal signs of aging.
The photographs are part of the condition description.
Value-added tax will not be shown separately - Art & Used Goods special regulation under § 25a UStG.
