Hans Friedrich (b. 1939) Landschaft, an oil on canvas signed and dated, framed, original edition from 1969, 105 × 105 cm frame with a 100 × 100 cm canvas, Germany.
Description from the seller
Hans Friedrich (born 1939) – “Landscape” – Oil on canvas, signed and dated as well as framed.
Large-format, impressive work by the German artist Hans Friedrich from a series of abstract landscape representations. The composition combines organically flowing red form bodies with a clearly structured geometric framework in black and yellow. Through the soft color transitions and the precisely set contrasts, a tense balance between surface, space and movement emerges.
The reduced formal language and the intense color effect place the work stylistically in the realm of concrete or constructive tendencies of post-war modernism, while Friedrich develops an independent, painterly softer interpretation.
The painting is signed and dated on the reverse of the stretcher.
Technique:
Oil on canvas
Dimensions:
Framed: 105 × 105 cm
Canvas: 100 × 100 cm
