Description from the seller
OPERA
"Detail" stems from a simple gesture: taking a fragment of one of my paintings and carrying it outside, enlarging it until it becomes an autonomous work. I chose to isolate a portion of the weave – that part where the mark intertwines and creates solids and voids – and reproduce it on an XXL canvas (150 × 110 cm).
The idea is to give space to what in my works is often discovered only by approaching: the micro-signs, the interlocks, the minimal variations, everything that happens “inside” the surface. Here that world is no longer a hidden detail, but becomes the main subject: an abstract, black-and-white writing, dense and rhythmic, that invites you to get lost in the details.
In this sense, “Detail” is an enlargement, but also a choice: to transform the intimacy of the particular into a physical, large presence that forces you to look slowly and up close.

ARTIST
I am Pietro Fight, an Italian visual artist, born 1992 and based in Milan. My research sits within the realm of gestural abstraction, a line of abstract art that developed mainly in the postwar period, where the mark becomes an autonomous visual language: it does not depict recognizable figures, but builds rhythm, density, tension, and breath within the work. My work arises from a gestural writing made of circular modules and nets of signs, with which I seek balance between solids and voids, accumulation and suspension, intensity of the mark and zones of visual silence. I work on canvas with various techniques, layering glazes and markings to dialogize color blocks and black marks; I am interested in both a tight black-and-white, and the use of sharp chromatic contrasts.
This language of mine was born in 2020, during the Covid period, when I transformed the boredom of daily routine into a process made of repetition, rhythm, and small variations. From that period also derives the signature “Corona,” a direct trace of that time (coronavirus). The mark I draw is instantaneous and records the mechanics of my mind: even when it appears serial, it varies according to mood and the inner “noise” of the moment. For this reason, even within a repeated grammar, every trace is different and every work remains unrepeatable.

IMPORTANT: for safety reasons and to reduce shipping costs, the canvas will be sent rolled in a rigid tube (without frame). The shipment will be trackable; once received, the work can be mounted by a framer. There is a margin of about 8 cm of unpainted canvas to facilitate mounting. Unique original work, signed on the back, accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist (with a personalized stamp).
