Horn tobacco snuff box engraved “Triomphe d’Ariane” – 19th century
Antique tobacco snuff box in natural horn, rectangular in shape with a hinged lid, entirely made from the same material.
The upper surface is decorated with a refined relief/pressed scene bearing the inscription “TRIOMPHE D’ARIANE,” depicting Ariadne’s triumphal procession: dancing figures and a chariot drawn by felines (panthers), an iconography linked to the Dionysian world. The base features a fine finish of horizontal striations that enhance the relief.
The interior is smooth, originally intended for snuff tobacco. The hinge, also integrated into the structure, is functioning and well preserved.

Measurements: 11x6x2.5 cm. Weight: 104 g
Good overall condition with evident signs of time and use (scratches, surface wear, natural patina, and small imperfections along the edges and hinge, consistent with age). Interior with traces of use.
