The Fender Player Plus series was designed to offer a "premium" experience in a model made in Mexico (MIM), standing out for its new-generation Noiseless pickups. These pickups are stacked humbuckers (two coils stacked), designed to cancel the 60-cycle hum typical of traditional single-coils, while retaining Fender's characteristic brightness and clarity.

Recently, the Player Plus line was discontinued and replaced by the new Player II Modified series, which continues to offer Noiseless pickups and locking tuners.
