Aroma: Sherry with light citrus notes, baked apple, dried fruit and nuts.
Taste: Lots of spices and heather herbs complemented by delicate smoke. Red fruits, ginger and malt sweets.
Finish: Long and only slightly smoky with dark chocolate.
Full-bodied with spicy flavors, this fine Scotch whisky beguiles our senses. Whisky from Spanish sherry casks (English Sherry Cask). The very long maturation time makes this Glenfarclas a complex pleasure, while the price makes us breathe a sigh of relief, at least measured against other single malts of this age. At 43% by volume, this Glenfarclas is bottled at a pleasant drinking strength, as are most of its sibling bottlings, and as is usual with Glenfarclas, in its natural color. The beautiful deep dark amber of this whiskey has arisen quite naturally over the many years in sherry casks.
