Description from the seller
Extremely decorative model boat. It is a rowing boat for 10 rowers, on which a sail can also be placed. The boat is 83 cm wide, 20 cm high, and 25 cm deep. The weight is about 2 kg. It probably dates from the 1960s or 1970s of the last century.
In the boat there are two water barrels attached, and there is also a first aid kit and a supply box present. Furthermore, there is a mast with a sail and two booms. The last three items are tightly tied inside the hull. It has probably never been intended to place the sail on the hull. There is also a latchable rudder and there are 9 oars. Because there are 10 brackets along the edge of the boat (see photos), one oar has probably gone missing at some point.
The hull was probably made by a hobby builder, but a very handy model maker, because the boat looks incredibly good. Here and there the varnish on the wood reveals that underneath the varnish there is a good layer of primer (or gesso).
Probably it was made in the United Kingdom given the English names on the fittings and the name of the boat: 'Liverpool'; the city of The Beatles!
The boat stands on two stands, giving it very good stability. It is a very decorative object in an interior, and certainly a conversation piece!
The boat is carefully packed and insured for shipment.
