Adriano Piu was born in 1954 in Cervignano del Friuli in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region. He currently lives and works in the old village of Chiarmacis in the municipality of Rivignano-Teor in the province of Udine, Italy.

Since the 1970s he has appeared in numerous exhibitions, including the Venice Biennale. Piu's works are in museums and major private collections.
