The Sleeping Garden - Hand signed by Le Yack (1972), a 40 × 40 cm giclée on canvas mounted on a wooden chassis, edition of 20, from France, shipped direct from the artist with a certificate of authenticity, ready to hang.
Description from the seller
In a park in the French style, between cypress trees and wrought-iron fences, a red-haired woman in a petrol-green suit lies on the grass, her head resting on a broken antique statue. She is sleeping—or pretending. In the end of the path, beyond the gate, the headlights of an approaching car pierce the blue night.
Le Yack creates here an image of suspended tension worthy of a Patricia Highsmith novel. Who is arriving? Does she know? Why is she sleeping on a broken statue in a garden at nightfall? The perspective-escaping composition—the path, the cypresses, the gate, the headlights—draws the eye toward a point of threat or deliverance that we will never know.
Fine art canvas print, mounted on a frame, ready to hang.
