Description from the seller
CÍTRICOS is a 70x100 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García. This work turns a simple arrangement of fruit and tableware into a visual explosion of freshness, aroma, and color. Seen from above, the table becomes a vibrant tapestry where lemons, grapefruits, oranges, and pomegranates dialogue with white flowers and decorated ceramics, creating an abundant and festive composition. It is not a static still life, but a scene that seems to radiate light and perfume.
The division of the tablecloth into intense red and checkered green provides a strongly graphic rhythm, almost like two chromatic seasons that balance each other. On that background, the yellows and reds of the fruit shine with a Mediterranean intensity, while the greens of the leaves introduce organic continuity between the different dishes. The eye jumps from one corner to another, always discovering a new detail: a sliced piece, a fallen flower, a pomegranate opened like a jewel.
There is in the piece a clear celebration of the shared table and of sensory pleasure. The decorated dishes recall the ceramic tradition of the south, and the scattered flowers add a gesture of spontaneity that breaks any compositional rigidity. Everything seems arranged for a late breakfast, a summer tea, or simply for the visual enjoyment of everyday abundance.
“Cítricos” is a luminous and optimistic painting, a homage to the Mediterranean culture of color, fruit, and the table as a place of encounter. A work that fills the space with energy and turns the simplest objects into a joyful visual experience.
