Oskar Kokoschka (1886–1980)
„Specht“, 1972
Color lithograph on paper. A striking depiction of a bird in Kokoschka's characteristic nervy, dynamic linework with vivid, partly transparent coloring.
The work is stamp-signed and dated 1972.
Dimensions:
Sheet size approx. 65.5 × 47.5 cm
Condition:
The sheet shows age-related signs of wear. The paper surface is overall visibly darkened with a slightly warm, beige-yellow tone, somewhat more pronounced especially in the edge areas. At the top there is a horizontal crease, caused by previous mounting in the mat.
Occasional light irregularities and minor printing or handling marks are present, but without any material impairment of the image.
