Description from the seller
Johnson Tsang — Work in Progress
Contemporary sculpture published by Avant Arte in a limited edition of 150 copies.
Complete work with its original box, Avant Arte certificate of authenticity, its card, envelope and handling gloves.
Work in Progress represents a face seeming to emerge from a material still in the process of being shaped. This sculpture sits squarely within Johnson Tsang's universe, the Hong Kong artist known for his expressive figures, often at the boundary between realism, surrealism and human introspection.
This edition has a particularly personal dimension: Avant Arte indicates that the work was created during the artist's rehabilitation period after a stroke. The piece evokes reconstruction, transformation and the idea that life continually shapes us.
The sculpture is made of molded resin, with a matte finish designed to recall the visual softness of porcelain, the artist's emblematic medium. Artsy references this work with dimensions 28.4 × 22 × 8 cm, edition of 150, with certificate of authenticity.
The work is currently sold out at Avant Arte. The launch price was €900.
