Andy Warhol (1928-1987) was a central figure of Pop Art and one of the most influential artists of the 20th century. Born in Pittsburgh, he rose from a successful career in commercial illustration to redefine visual art by embracing mass media and celebrity culture. Warhol’s work, which includes paintings, silkscreens, film, photography and sculpture, blurred the boundaries between art, commerce and popular imagery, and transformed icons of American culture into enduring visual symbols.

Warhol’s market remains one of the strongest and most liquid in contemporary art. Large paintings regularly fetch tens of millions at auction, while his screenprints form a very active and international market segment. Famous series featuring celebrities, movie stars and cultural myths are particularly sought after, making Warhol both a blue-chip artist and a cornerstone of modern art collections.
