Description from the seller
WORK
"Thermal Filter" comes from the idea of inserting a sort of lens inside the work. The external surface is built in black and white, with a dense graphic texture; in the center, however, the colored circle completely changes the reading of the painting.
It is as if that central form functions as a thermal filter: a lens that allows you to see what normally remains hidden beneath the surface. Outside appears black and white, colder and more controlled; inside, instead, heat, energy and the liveliest part of the work emerge.
The violet and the orange transform the sign, as if they reveal an internal temperature. For me, it is a way to say that behind a seemingly orderly and graphic structure there is always something more fiery, more instinctive, warmer.
In this sense, “Thermal Filter” is a work about the contrast between what is immediately seen and what is discovered when looking through another lens.

ARTIST
I am Pietro Fight, an Italian visual artist, born 1992, based in Milan. My research falls within symbolic abstraction, a line of abstract art developed mainly in the post–war period, in which the sign becomes an autonomous visual language: it does not describe recognizable figures but builds rhythm, density, tension and breath within the work. My work arises from a gesture-writing made of circular modules and networks of signs, through which I seek balance between full and empty, accumulation and suspension, intensity of the sign and zones of visual silence. I work on canvas with varied techniques, layering glazes and markings to bring chromatic fields and the black sign into dialogue; I am interested in both a tight black-and-white, and the use of sharp color contrasts.
This language of mine arose in 2020, during the Covid period, when I transformed the boredom of daily routine into a process made of repetition, rhythm and small variations. From that period also comes the signature “Corona,” a direct trace of that time (coronavirus). The sign I trace is instantaneous and records the mechanics of my mind: even when it appears serial, it varies according to mood and the inner “noise” of the moment. For this reason, even within a repeated grammar, every trace is different and every work remains unrepeatable.

IMPORTANT: for safety reasons and to reduce shipping costs, the canvas will be sent rolled in a rigid tube (without frame). The shipment will be trackable; once received, the work can be mounted by a framer. There is a margin of about 8 cm of unpainted canvas to facilitate framing. Unique and original work, signed on the back, accompanied by Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist (with personalized stamp).
Technique: acrylic painting & white gesso
Dimensions: 108 x 129 cm (≈ 42.5 × 50.8 in)
