Peter Klashorst (born 1957 in Santpoort) is a Dutch artist, known as a painter, photographer, and co-founder of the artist group After Nature.
Klashorst studied at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam. In the 1980s he broke through with expressive paintings and grew into a prominent figure within the Dutch art scene.
His work is often figurative and direct, with bold colors and quick brushstrokes. Much of his later work arose during travels and stays in Africa, where he captured portraits and scenes from daily life.
Klashorst is known for his free, sometimes controversial lifestyle and art, which often pushes the boundary between aesthetics and confrontation.
