CRITICAL NOTE:
This photograph is, in my view, a major success because it manages to capture a paradox: absolute stillness that nevertheless radiates vibrant energy.

The framing is bold. By placing the model's face at the center of a horizontal structure formed by her own arms, the artist creates a "frame within a frame". This forces the viewer to dive straight into the subject's eyes. The choice of black and white is not decorative; it is structural. It strips away color "noise" to leave only the essentials: light, texture, and emotion.

The intention here seems to be a deconstruction of beauty. It does not seek to idealize or smooth the subject (as seen in fashion or nude photography). Its aim is twofold:
Nothing in this photo (clothing, decor, excessive makeup) allows for precise dating. It touches on the universal.
The use of side lighting (from the window) creates a modeling on the shoulder and arm that recalls classical sculpture. This is not just a photo, it is a study of light.

A photo for the press tells a fact. An art photo asks a question. Here, the model's gaze is an enigma: is she tired, provocative, melancholic, or serene? It is the viewer who completes the work by projecting their own interpretation onto it.

Born in Switzerland in 1996, Alinghi developed an early passion for photography, starting practice at the age of 12. He later formalized his approach by pursuing university studies in photography and was quickly recognized by his peers, winning several awards for the quality of his work.

Alinghi defines himself as an eclectic photographer, but his work focuses mainly on two distinct areas: artistic nude photography and motorsports.
In his work around the feminine figure, he seeks to capture the essence of beauty that is both wild and raw and of serene harmonious balance. His goal is to highlight these subtle contrasts through the development of dedicated photographic series.

Alinghi presents his work on his website and typically organizes one solo exhibition per year to share his most recent creations.
