"Vieuw" is a part of the series "House-4-Sale". Photographer Ursula van de Bunte discovered during her search for a home an empty house on De La Sablonierekade in Kampen. Time seemed to have stood still there; authentic details and Art Deco influences from 1890 were still intact.
Fascinated by the atmosphere, she used the house as a photo location. She photographed people of various ages there and created still images of objects that evoke the past.
After years of vacancy and many visitors, the house ultimately was not sold. Ursula decided to buy it herself, with the promise to leave the front room untouched. Today this space is her photo studio.
Vieuw is a print on Ilford Galerie Prestige, the size is 49x69 and is mounted on 2mm PVC. It is the first edition of 25 copies.

Passionate, sensitive and with an eye for detail, light and color, would be a nice description of Ursula's approach. She is perfectionistic, enthusiastic and diligent; she will only be satisfied when the well-known WOW factor has been achieved.
With her artworks she aims to bring her subjects forward in the purest possible way. Ursula transforms objects into powerful still lifes and the portraits are a reflection of a bygone era, where from time to time a splash of modern life is incorporated.
Her work is unconventional and the use of light leans toward her sources of inspiration: the paintings of Jacques-Louis David, Rembrandt and Caravaggio.
As a photographer Ursula also seeks to distinguish herself through diversity in her work, and beside individual creations she makes series, where multiple images tell one story. She is notably discovered with her intriguing, still lifes: the series Plastic Vegetables and the series House-4-Sale. These works have been awarded with various prizes, among them for the series “de 100 van Rooyackers.”
