ARTIST'S BIOGRAPHY:

Born in Vilanova i la Geltrú in 1922. He entered the School of Arts and Trades in his city at eleven years old, where he studied under Alexandre de Cabanyes and Damià Torrents.

In 1936 he joined Joaquín Mir's workshop where he began his training in painting. His inclination toward these arts arose thanks to the help and advice of that master of color.

After the war, he worked as a decorator. In 1952 he moved to Brazil, where he resided until 1964. He undertook study trips across the American continent, living among artists from various countries. Subsequently he resided in different cities, including Mallorca, Paris and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

His artistic spirit finds the most suitable medium for expression in oil painting, a technique he practices with great personality, particularly within the genres of portrait, landscape, and seascapes. In addition to washes, he also works in watercolor.

His preferred subject is landscape, painted en plein air (Camp de Tarragona, Conca de Barberà, El Garraf, especially between the years 1980 and 1994).

He has exhibited in Catalonia, France and Brazil, where samples of his work can be found in private collections.

He died in 2016 in Vilanova i la Geltrú.
