Richter, Gerhard (born 1932) "Onkel Rudi" 2000, hand-signed color offset print. The print is after a oil painting titled "Onkel Rudi" from 1965. The work is based on a photo of Richter's uncle Rudi, a Wehrmacht soldier. Richter painted the picture after the death of his uncle in World War II. The painting is an example of Richter's photorealistic style, in which he uses photos as a reference for his works.
