AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Acrylic on canvas.

Canvas dimensions 41 x 53 cm.

A note: as with all of his works, this piece by Master Aldo Gentilini is part of a private collection.

It is certainly an interesting work for anyone who has space to furnish and enliven with taste, in Abstract/figurative style; it comes with its original steel frame which is in decent structural condition, without the glass which could be reinstalled if desired.

The images shown are an integral part of the description.

It will be packed with great care and shipped via express courier with tracking.

Aldo Gentilini was born in Genoa in 1911. From a young age he felt a strong religious vocation that led him to enter the cloistered monastery of Pietrasanta, where he stayed for three years, pursuing philosophical studies, and then, self-taught, dedicated himself to artistic research, which would lead him to exhibit in numerous shows in Italy and abroad.

A man of faith, he believed that only through art could the divine be reached. And this idea would underpin all his work: "I try to make emptiness – Gentilini declared – This emptiness provokes a certain catharsis: I observe sensitive values that I respect, I re-evaluate them, but I never know how I will fall into the painting, and this is the realization of a truth toward the sign never thought of."

He was an artist practicing asceticism, to imitate the Saint to whom he was devoted. The two natures, human and aesthetic, coincide perfectly.
