In this composition, the image seems to arrive slightly late to itself. The face is not fully revealed — it fragments into zones of light and shadow, as if in a loading process, suspended between the visible and the hidden.
The gaze, diverted and tense, suggests an inner interval: a space where perception has not yet consolidated into awareness. There is a sense of delay — not physical, but emotional and cognitive — as if the experience is being filtered, slowed, before becoming presence.
Light functions here as a selective mechanism, exposing only parts of the subject while the rest dissolves into darkness. This play creates an incomplete narrative, where identity is not given, but insinuated.
“Latency” explores the invisible time between stimulus and response, between seeing and understanding. In that interval, a quiet tension takes hold — a territory where the image hesitates, and the subject exists only as possibility.
