Statement:

This image is part of the project “Fase2 / Another Tomorrow,” started during phase 2 of Covid-19 and featuring me and my wife as the immediate family nucleus. The imposition of lockdown and the often mixed—and contradictory—news circulated, especially at the beginning of the pandemic, have generated, among other things, total disorientation and pushed us into a Limbo. From this (non)place, control over our lives no longer seems to be in our hands. The restrictions imposed by the authorities also forced us to experience our realities less in person and more in cyberspace. An escape and a partial reclaiming of control over one’s existence now seem possible only thanks to virtual reality, which pulls us away from where we are to immerse us in new experiences. This, I believe, is a new tomorrow—not better nor worse than how I imagined it, but simply different. Another tomorrow.

Biography:

Gianluca Micheletti approached photography in 2011 after pursuing other disciplines. His training developed through courses and workshops, culminating in a significant experience in Berlin in 2012 that led him to embark on a professional path. In 2013 he won a scholarship at the Italian Institute of Photography in Milan, where in 2014 he won the Project Book. Parallelly, he deepened his visual research by attending the graphic arts printmaking workshop at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bergamo.

Today he works as a professional photographer, specialized in corporate photography and product still life, combining commercial work with a constant personal research between fine art photography and reportage.

Throughout his career he has received numerous international recognitions, including awards at the Moscow International Foto Awards, Tokyo International Foto Awards, ND Photography Awards, and Prix de la Photographie Paris, where in 2022 he won the Gold Award in the Fine Art / Digitally Enhanced category with the project “Dream Machine.”

His works have been exhibited in solo and group shows in Europe and internationally, including Rovinj Photodays, Kaunas Photo Festival, Shibuya Cultural Center in Tokyo, Milano PhotoFestival, Paratissima Art Station, and Der Greif at the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich. In 2024 he participated in the Surreal Exhibition in Glasgow and at Fotografie Urbane during the Trieste Photo Days; in 2025 he exhibited at the Liquida Photofestival in Turin and was selected for a site-specific project for Centrale Festival Milano.

His photographic research blends technical rigor with personal vision, moving between documentation and artistic experimentation.
