Anton Heyboer, Kip, a crayon drawing in original edition, signed by Handgesigneerd, dated to 1980–1990, in good condition, from the Netherlands, measuring 71 × 51 cm including frame (51 × 37 cm unframed), sold by Galerie.
Description from the seller
Due to his unconventional lifestyle, Anton Heyboer was among the most eccentric Dutch artists of the past decades. His turbulent life manifested in five marriages. He also described himself as 'the Robin Hood of the art world,' referring to his high output. Heyboer trained as a mechanical engineer. After World War II he began drawing, though still in a traditional style. Between 1954 and 1957 he developed his own philosophical framework on the basis of which his abstract artworks arose. Yet figurative elements always remain in his paintings and prints. Heyboer also clarified the themes of his work with texts, in which human relationships often play a role.
Dimensions: 51 x 37 cm
Dimensions with frame: 71 x 51 cm
Provenance: Purchased at the Anton Heyboer studio
