Richard Schur studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2000. From 2002 to 2008 he taught painting as an assistant professor with Jerry Zeniuk at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. In 2005 he received the Bayerischer Kunstförderpreis art prize. Schur's works have been exhibited in galleries and museums worldwide since 1998
