Description from the seller

Beautiful original work by Amsterdam-based artist Hugo Kaagman.
The canvas is 100 x 100 m and painted using stencil art and spray paint.
Rarely offered at auctions.

Hugo was active during the Amsterdam punk movement. At the end of the seventies he was part of a creative group within the Amsterdam punk and squatting movement. He is one of the pioneers who experimented with stencil art at the beginnings of the Dutch graffiti and street art scene. He produced punk magazines and used stencils in his political graffiti. Today he mostly paints in blue and white, which makes his works reminiscent of Delft Blue.

In the Amsterdam public art scene, his work can be seen at: Amsterdam Central Station, the Albert Cuyp Market, and the Straatmuseum at the NDSM Wharf
