Description from the seller
Due to his unusual lifestyle, Anton Heyboer belonged to the most eccentric Dutch artists of the past decades. His turbulent life led to five marriages. He also described himself as 'the Robin Hood of the art world', referring to his prolific output. Heyboer was trained as a mechanical engineer. After World War II he began drawing, though still in a traditional style. Between 1954 and 1957 he developed his own philosophical framework on the basis of which his abstract artworks emerged. Yet there are always figurative elements present in his paintings and etchings. He also clarified the themes of his work with texts, in which human relationships often play a role.
Dimensions: 35 x 38 cm
Dimensions with frame: 53 x 53 cm
Provenance: Purchased at Anton Heyboer's studio
Viewing is, of course, possible. In addition, we have our own in-house framing shop, which is celebrating its 85th anniversary. Furthermore we use restorers from the trade organization: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. If you would like to make use of this, please let us know.
