Wahl-Eversharp Skyline fountain pen from the mid-20th century with a green resin body, gold plated cap, 14K gold nib, lever-filler, 13.3 cm long by 1.1 cm in diameter, made in the United States and in good, working condition.
Description from the seller
A0000004781
The fountain pen is in good overall condition, showing the signs of use typical of a vintage piece from its era, but maintaining an excellent aesthetic and functional presence.
The dark green resin body preserves an attractive shine, with light micro-scratches visible under direct light, consistent with careful use over time. No cracks or deformations, and the structure remains solid.
The gold-plated cap, with its characteristic brushed finish, shows light and uniform wear of the plating, especially noticeable in the more exposed areas, which contributes an authentic patina in keeping with its age. The decorative rings are well defined and in good structural condition.
The clip, signed “Eversharp”, retains its shape and functionality, with slight signs of use but no deformations. The cap closure system closes properly.
The lever-fill system has been checked and is operational, ensuring proper function. The pen has been tested before being put up for sale, guaranteeing immediate use.
The 14K gold nib is in very good condition, with no appreciable deformities, with correct alignment and a well-preserved tip, ready to offer a smooth and fluent writing experience.
Overall, it is a well-preserved, fully functional specimen with the charm of a classic fountain pen from the 1940s.
Conservation recommendations
We recommend using high-quality fountain pen inks, avoiding pigmented inks. If not used for a while, rinse with lukewarm water, dry completely before storing and keep in a dry place, away from direct light and extreme temperatures. Always operate the filling system gently.
It will be sent in a courtesy box for proper preservation. Have a good auction!
