Description from the seller
BUSTO NARANJA is a 70x100 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García. This work is a scene of silent tension where the classical fractures and the symbolic emerges. The sculptural head, with a serene and timeless appearance, is interrupted by a red wound that bursts onto its surface, destabilizing the idea of intact beauty and turning it into a vulnerable body.
Color is the absolute protagonist here. The intense orange of the bust, almost incandescent, contrasts with the deep blue of the background, creating a dialogue between the earthly and the ethereal. This contrast not only defines the space but also amplifies the emotional charge of the image: warm as life, cool as distance, mental as thought. On the right, suspended in the air, there appears a mask or floating head that introduces a second plane of reading. More decorative, more contained, it seems to represent another identity, another version of the face. Between the two figures an ambiguous relationship is established: double, memory, idealization?
The elements on the table — the polished sphere, the leaf — provide balance and pause. They are simple, almost silent forms, which contrast with the intensity of the bust and reinforce the sense of an altered still life, where something has happened.
BUSTO NARANJA is a painting about the rupture of perfection, about fragmented identity and the coexistence of multiple faces. A scene that blends the classical and the contemporary, the beautiful and the unsettling, in a delicate yet unstable balance.
