Description from the seller

Eugen Eichenberger (1926–2015)
Le Pont Neuf, Paris

Oil on panel, signed bottom right E. Eichenberger.

Elegant view of Pont Neuf in Paris, one of the most iconic places in the French capital, interpreted with free and atmospheric painting. The bridge extends into depth through a succession of arches reflecting on the Seine, creating a harmonious and dynamic visual rhythm.

The brushstroke, rapid and synthetic, builds the image with glazes and vibrant touches, evoking the soft and slightly veiled light typical of Parisian urban views. The bluish-gray tones of the water dialogue with the warmer tones of the bridge and the city in the background, giving the work a pleasant chromatic unity.

A representative work of Eugen Eichenberger's landscape production, a Swiss artist known for his urban and lakeside views treated with Impressionist sensibility.

On the back, stamp of the framer Borden, Lausanne (Rue de la Grottaz 7), an interesting element for the history of the work.

Technique: oil on panel
Dimensions without frame: 32 × 42 cm
Dimensions with frame: about 40 × 50 cm
Condition: good overall, with slight signs of time
Frame present

Careful shipping with professional packaging. It should be noted that postal shipping, although the most economical solution, is not the ideal method for works of art and does not guarantee absence of risk, especially for original rigid supports. Tracked shipping; insurance on request and at the buyer's expense. Possible longer times and customs costs for international shipments (including the European Union). In-person pickup in Geneva recommended. In case of return of the lot, the re-shipment costs will be at the buyer's expense.
