A small but particularly charming dune landscape by Pieter Adrianus Schipperus (1840–1929), one of the beloved Romantic landscape painters of the Netherlands. The panel (14 × 25 cm) is signed and dated 1924 on the lower left and in good condition. This work shows exactly where Schipperus excelled: a soft, almost poetic rendering of the Dutch landscape, with subtle light and a tranquil horizon.
