Description from the seller
The Parisian gallery CHENUS LONGHI presents “Cohabiter 2,” an original work on paper by the artist Levalet that comes with its certificate of authenticity. With Cohabiter 2, Levalet continues a series about the penguin developed in 2025, notably during his Sabordage exhibition and the urban collage route Les Lézarts de la Bièvre, where he addresses the issue of the “Great Displacement” linked to global warming. On the shoulder of a man, a line of penguins advances while others fall into the void. The human body becomes landscape, a fragile support of a threatened balance. Between reference to Lemmings and ecological reflection, the work evokes the fragility of ecosystems and human responsibility, in a simple and direct image. We love Levalet’s drawing work, always delicate and biting.

About the artist
Levalet is a French artist born in Épinal, who grew up in Guadeloupe. Trained in visual arts in Strasbourg, in 2012 he began to intervene in the streets of Paris with ink-drawn figure collages, playing with architecture and urban furniture. His work is distinguished by a narrative approach combining humor, offbeatness, and staging, inherited from theater and cinema. He quickly gained international recognition and joined galleries in 2013, continuing his investigations through installations and works on wood, concrete, canvas, and salvaged materials. Now based in Reims, he explores the relations between bodies, urban space, and nature, in a practice that extends the spirit of his on-site interventions, always with a social discourse placing the human being at the center of questions.
Levalet is part of the street art movement, alongside artists such as Vhils, Invader, Shepard Fairey, JonOne, Kaws, Futura.
