The work is hand-signed by the artist at the bottom and dated 1894.
The painting is presented framed with a fairly contemporary frame (the frame shows some signs of wear).
The condition of the painting is good, only noting a minor restoration at the bottom.

BIOGRAPHY OF THE ARTIST
Domingo Soler i Gili (Sabadell, 1871 - Barcelona, 1951) Painter of landscapes and scenographer, Domingo Soler began his training at the Academy of Fine Arts in his hometown, and then continued his studies in Barcelona, at the La Lonja School. Pensioned by the Provincial Council in Paris between 1892 and 1893, he worked with the scenographer Corpesar. He finally completed his artistic training in Rome. He taught at the Italian School of Barcelona and, later, at the School of Arts and Trades. He was also president of the Association of Watercolorists of Catalonia. He participated in various group exhibitions, and between 1913 and 1922 he annually organized solo shows at the Parés Hall in Barcelona. He competed in various art competitions, being awarded the Drawing Prize of the “Barcelona Cómica”, the Barcelona Antigua Prize, the Medal of the Exhibition of Art and Decorative Industries of Mexico, and the Gold Medal of Catalan Landscapes. A follower of Vila i Cinca, his portraits of the Catalan landscape enjoyed great critical and public acclaim, though he also stood out for his scenes set in the eighteenth century. He is represented in the Sabadell Museum and in the Watercolor Museum of Llançà.
