Celestino Piatti (1922-2007) - VAT 69

Celestino Piatti (1922-2007) was a well-known Swiss graphic designer, painter and book designer, who in Germany was particularly known for his cover designs of the dtv paperback series. As a graphic designer, he was also repeatedly active in the advertising sector. A particularly beautiful example of this is represented by the sheet offered here, in which advertising for the Scottish whisky brand VAT 69 is foregrounded.

The chromolithograph is in very good condition; it is hand-signed by the artist in pencil on the right side and also hand-signed by him, below the depiction, in pencil with the note “20/300” indicating the edition size.
