Louis-Jules Dumoulin (Paris, 1860-1924) was a French painter. He traveled in East Asia and was the founder of the Société Coloniale des Artistes Français in 1908
Dumoulin is an Orientalist painter associated with official artistic circles and a great traveler on the various missions entrusted to him.
He undertook his first major journey outside Europe in 1888.
On the occasion of the official mission to Japan commanded by the Ministry of National Education

A light cleaning is to be carried out to revive the colors and a small restoration planned (see photo)

Il a voyagé en Asie orientale et a été le fondateur de la Société Coloniale des Artistes Français en 1908
Dumoulin est un peintre orientaliste associé aux milieux artistiques officiels et un grand voyageur des différentes missions qui lui sont confiées.
Il effectue son premier grand voyage hors d'Europe en 1888. 
A l'occasion de la mission officielle au Japon commandée par le Ministère de l'Education Nationale
