David Law
Photographer Artist - Creator of contemporary images

Multidisciplinary photographer-artists, author and musician, David Law develops work centered on gaze, presence and the perception of the image in urban space. He first made a name for himself with a series devoted to storefront mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superpositions.

This exploration of gaze and presence gave birth to an art book published in 2021.
Asked afterward by the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he continues this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals.

Through framing, light, and composition, these inanimate figures acquire a troubling, almost living presence, questioning our relationship to illusion and projection.

New series - Skylines

In this series, David Law explores pared-down urban horizons where architectural lines and reflections dialogue with wide, nuanced skies. Each composition plays on the balance between presence and silence, sometimes punctuated by a minimal element, a bird or a boat, that suggests scale and movement. This work is part of a visual research nourished by the use of contemporary graphic tools, serving an aesthetic that is both contemplative and structured.

Edition & Production

Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 copies numbered + 4 artist’s proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and supplied with an authenticity certificate.

The prints are made on aluminum with an integrated back hanger. Printing on luminous white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum panels, with flexible UV- and humidity-resistant lamination, ensuring excellent durability, long-term stability of colors and a modern, contemporary look.

Career

Since 2014, David Law participates in about twenty contemporary art fairs per year in France and Europe.

He is also the dedicated photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs.

Alongside his visual activity, he develops a broader authorial and musical body of work including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a comic book, a photo book, and 5 self-produced CDs.

As a singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the group FRENZY.
