Description from the seller
Eleonora Stol (1946–2022) was a Dutch artist best known for her expressive, colorful and emotionally charged paintings and graphic works. She was born in Leiden and studied at the Vrije Academie in The Hague, and later worked for a long time from Amsterdam. Her artist’s name was also sometimes “La Roja,” referring to her preference for powerful colors, with red as a recurring theme in her life and work.
Stol’s work is characterized by vibrant color, dynamic forms, and an intuitive painting style in which passion, love, dance and dream images play a significant role. She often used mixed techniques, including acrylics, oil, and pencil, giving her works a rich, textural appearance that directly engages emotion. Her art is described as lively, energetic and full of movement, almost as if the canvases “breathe.”
Dimensions of the work: 180 x 140 cm
The work is on display in our gallery. Additionally, Art Dumay runs a framing workshop (this year their 85th anniversary) and a restoration studio. So if you would like to make use of these services, we would, of course, be happy to hear from you.
Shipping is possible. This will be arranged after purchase. For questions, please contact us.
