Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Pilot Capless fountain pen with a capless retractable system, burgundy lacquered resin body with rhodium-plated metal parts, 14K gold nib in Medium size, 14 cm long and 1.3 cm in diameter, origin Japan and dated 2000–2010, in excellent, barely used condition and in working order, includes the original Pilot box and Japanese nib label.
Description from the seller
The pen is in very good overall condition, presenting an elegant and well-cared-for aesthetic. The burgundy lacquered body maintains a deep, uniform shine, with slight micro-scratches from use typical of a vintage piece carefully preserved. The rhodium-plated metal elements retain an excellent visual appearance, showing only small fine marks visible under close inspection, especially in some areas of the clip and the retractable mechanism.
The retractable system characteristic of the Pilot Capless works precisely and smoothly, deploying and concealing the nib correctly. The 14K gold nib in Medium (M) offers a smooth, steady writing with good ink flow. The piece has been inspected and tested to ensure proper functioning before sale.
The original Japanese nib label is preserved, a detail particularly attractive to collectors and enthusiasts of Japanese fountain pens. The pen also includes its original Pilot box, a feature that significantly increases its collectible appeal and presentation.
Overall, it is a very attractive exemplar for both daily use and collection, especially valued for its innovative retractable system and the renowned writing quality of Pilot.
Maintenance recommendations:
Use high-quality fountain pen inks and avoid pigmented inks. Clean periodically with lukewarm water if not used for a while. Dry completely before storing. Keep in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Gently operate the retractable mechanism to preserve mechanical precision.
Happy bidding!
