Sonia Anton, an original acrylic painting titled Desert Heat - XL, 90 cm by 60 cm, in bronze tones, hand signed, created in 2026, shipped rolled from Romania directly from the artist.
Description from the seller
A warm, luminous composition built on a rich copper and burnt sienna ground, layered with depth and movement. Dozens of loosely painted circles drift across the canvas in overlapping clusters, rendered in silver, cream, and white, catching the light like heat rising off sun-baked earth. The upper portion of the painting shifts into cooler, more atmospheric tones of grey and silver, as though the desert sky meets the land at the horizon. The texture is tactile and alive, with visible brushwork running beneath the circles, grounding the piece in something raw and elemental.
I kept thinking about heat and stillness while working on this, the way desert light feels heavy and golden, and yet there is so much movement in it. The circles came naturally, almost like bubbles of air or the shimmer above hot ground. This one has a meditative quality that I really love.
Sonia Anton is a Romanian-Australian artist whose passion for painting was shaped from an early age, growing up alongside her mother, a celebrated artist whose work left a lasting impression. Having lived across the world from Australia to Mexico and in different continents, Sonia brings a richness of experience and perspective to every canvas. Surrounded by creativity and self-expression from childhood, she naturally found her own voice through paint and colour. Her work is driven by a deep love of colour, and a more recent fascination with texture, which she explores with growing boldness and confidence. Each piece is an act of genuine self-expression, an invitation to feel rather than simply observe.
