Artist biography: Doped Out M
Doped Out M was born in Rome in 1988 in the suburbs (Nomentana). Fascinated by the underground hip-hop and graffiti scene, he decided in 2005 to join it by illegally writing on the walls of Rome (colorful pieces and street “bombings”). After several complaints, he chose to continue his activity on canvas.
Graduated in graphic design from the Via Sarandi Institute in Rome, he works as a professional graphic designer. In 2019, he left the capital to settle in Benevento, where he developed an in-depth study plan to evolve his ideas and technique. He now participates in auctions in Europe and worldwide, collaborating with galleries and renowned auction houses in the United Kingdom and the United States.
Style and Vision
His paintings are characterized by rapid, spontaneous execution, as well as a choice of vibrant colors (often fluorescent). He manages to maintain visual harmony even within apparent "disorder."
In his works, he blends popular characters from classic cartoons, protagonists from comics, references to rock bands or cult films. He regularly cites the artists who influenced him while keeping writings that recall his graffiti origins.
