Description from the seller
An artist saves everything because in any element she sees something she can use in her creation. This piece is made from these scraps of slats that are left over when frames or stretchers are made. They are remnants of the life of the studio, many bear traces of paint, splashes that are like small abstract paintings juxtaposed, and others bear the collage as she uses it in her paintings. This piece is reversible; it can be hung from either side and give a completely different feel. It can also be rotated and the sensation varies greatly, as seen in the additional photos. It is a painting, a wall sculpture, a mobile... The color of the wall also plays a fundamental role. Another option is to hang it from the ceiling and create a dividing mobile. A piece to admire from many viewpoints and that could well be one of the colorful backgrounds of the artist’s usual paintings. This work is shipped well packaged in a cardboard box. From May 28 to June 18 no shipments are made due to travel.
María Burgaz (1970) knew from a very young age that her calling was art. She began her training at the School of Decorative Arts in Madrid, and earned a Fine Arts degree at the Complutense University of Madrid in the Painting specialty in 1993. Later she completed her studies at FIT in New York.
Winner of competitions such as the Wellington Foundation, Professional Football Foundation, Women and Society, Iberdrola-UEX, UNED, Eugenio Hermoso, Gran Casino de Torrelodones… her work, in addition to being part of the collections of these institutions, also appears in those of town halls such as Gibraleón, Valdemoro, Martos, Horche, the Alicante Provincial Council…
She has held dozens of solo and group exhibitions both in Spain and abroad, and her work is also in numerous private collections worldwide.
Her industrious and enthusiastic temperament has led her to participate in all kinds of projects and to collaborate with designers, writers, and everything that allows her to express everything she carries inside. Her work always reveals the stage she is living, her vitality and her particular sense of humor and way of understanding life, always with a mastery of techniques that she combines and juxtaposes to create unique paintings of great narrative and technical richness.
Her works always include a certificate of authenticity and when they are works on canvas they are shipped rolled in a rigid tube for greater safety.
