Rare vintage model “Take to Pieces” of the RMS Queen Mary, made in England by The Chad Valley Company Limited from the original designs by G. H. Davis. It is an educational toy from the 1930s composed of cardboard layers illustrating the different decks and interior arrangements of the famous transatlantic liner.

The model is presented in the form of a sturdy printed cardboard hull, held together by metal rods/screws, on which the different decks are stacked. Each layer is finely detailed with the cabins, lounges, technical areas, etc., making it a very decorative and didactic piece.

On the lower edge there is the printed label: “Manufactured by The Chad Valley Company Limited, Harborne, England, from Original Designs by G. H. Davis. Patent applied for.”, attesting to the toy’s authenticity.

Rare modèle ancien « Take to Pieces » du paquebot RMS Queen Mary, fabriqué en Angleterre par The Chad Valley Company Limited d’après les dessins originaux de G. H. Davis. Il s’agit d’un jouet éducatif des années 1930 composé de couches en carton illustrant les différents ponts et aménagements intérieurs du célèbre liner transatlantique.

Le modèle se présente sous la forme d’une coque en carton fort imprimé, maintenue par des tiges métalliques / vis, sur lesquelles viennent s’empiler les différents ponts. Chaque couche est finement détaillée avec les cabines, salons, zones techniques, etc., ce qui en fait une pièce très décorative et didactique.

Sur la tranche inférieure figure l’étiquette imprimée : « Manufactured by The Chad Valley Company Limited, Harborne, England, from Original Designs by G. H. Davis. Patent applied for. », attestant de l’authenticité du jouet.
